ARP 2600

MODULAR · USED MARKET ONLY

The ARP 2600 is a semi-modular analogue synthesizer made by ARP Instruments, introduced in the early 1970s and produced into the early 1980s. It is a monophonic subtractive-synthesis instrument with three oscillators, a resonant low-pass filter, a ring modulator and a noise source, and its modules are internally normalled so it produces sound without patch cables, with patch points available to override the default routing. The console also holds a spring reverb and built-in speakers and was supplied with a separate keyboard controller; it saw common use in electronic music education and in sound-effects work.
