Minimoog Model D (vintage)

SYNTHESIZER · USED MARKET ONLY

The Minimoog Model D is a monophonic analog synthesizer; its original production run by Moog spanned the early 1970s to the early 1980s, and the same model name was used again for later Moog reissues. It uses subtractive synthesis, with a mixer that combines three oscillators, a noise source and an external audio input before the signal passes through a 24 dB/octave low-pass ladder filter and a voltage-controlled amplifier, each governed by its own envelope generator. Oscillator 3 can be switched to a low-frequency range and used as a modulation source instead of an audio source, and the signal path is wired internally rather than patched with cables, with a hinged control panel and pitch and modulation wheels to the left of the keyboard.
